For a scene in Baskerville Hall where Sir Henry and Watson get to know each other over a game, a genuine (if less than full size) billiard table was brought into the studio. During the actual takes the shots had to be played by effects technician Rebecca Kirby, since both actors were fully occupied holding their scripts and turning the pages silently.

Actors and technician have to work closely together in scenes such as this, to produce a convincing illusion of reality.
